MORNING MESSAGE
March 18, 2021

by Gayle Gordon

You were created with a specific intent in the mind of God. He has a unique purpose for you.
A purpose is a reason for being, an intentional goal and a practical result. You are the only you there is or ever will be; your Father in Heaven has focused His love and mercy on you, as an act of His will and purpose.

"But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."
Exodus 9:16

To be with Him; learn of Him and from Him; to live and have our being and enjoy His blessings. “The divine intention was and is that man should have fellowship with God…” Today, “the goal of God is to restore sinning man to His likeness, fellowship and dominion.” (Scofield)

Purpose can be seasonal as well as eternal.
"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1. We have a need to stay in touch with our purpose. Losing that connection can bring confusion and depression. After suffering total loss, Job lost the connection to his purpose and mourned deeply in grief:
"My days are past, My purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart." Job 17:11

As God works to form us into Christ’s image, we need purpose to do even the smallest things. Without purpose, we find ourselves descending into gloom. Purpose gives hope.

God gives purpose to us when we welcome His Son into our lives as Lord and Savior.
"May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose."
Psalm 20:4

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

When you were created, God assigned a purpose for your life.
“Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalm 139:16, NLT
“I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. Job 42:2
You are chosen to know God. He prepared you for Himself; that is the first and lasting purpose for each of our lives. Specifics are revealed as you walk and obey. Every day, we are given tasks that align with our purpose; to glorify Jesus Christ and impart the Good News to the world.

If the Lord whispers something to you to do, do it. Sometimes, a purpose is a determined choice. Purpose can increase strength and determination. The true purpose to which you are called will not develop pride; it will humble you before God.

"The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand: For the Lord of hosts has purposed, And who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, And who will turn it back?”
Isaiah 14:24,27

We seem to be very skilled at remembering the effects bad situations had on us in the past, or sins we committed, and believing the weakening and defeating results they may have had. Don't frustrate the Holy Spirit by blocking your obedience with those excuses. Today, you are no longer the person you used to be, in Him. You are saved, cleansed and made whole in Christ. God looks at you, pure and righteous in Jesus, and is pleased.

Knowledge and understanding of your purpose is deeply seated within; ask God to reveal how He wants it worked out in you. Let Him live His purpose through you. You will be amazed!
