MORNING MESSAGE
March 17, 2021
by Gayle Gordon
The beauty of Scripture is that it's not just words. The Holy Spirit anoints each syllable and entwines Himself around them - His words are organic and alive to bless us.
"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." Hebrews 4:12 NLT
"Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.”
Exodus 19:3-6 NLT
Pursuing God can be a mountain climb. There are times when we cling to the words of God because if we lose our grip, we'll fall. There are times when we stand upright on the words of God and are enabled to shout out the victory He has given us. How marvelous it is when we have it confirmed to us once again; what God promises, He will deliver. It never gets old!
"But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."
Isaiah 43:1-3
God redeems, provides for and protects us. His love holds no grudges. The Savior we love does not recall sin or hold our failures over our heads. God has become our loving Father, who works to form us into the image of His Son by creating righteousness in us according to the blueprint of Jesus's example.
In an emergency, a paramedic will check your vital functions first; is your heart beating, are you breathing, are you bleeding? Those things must be set right before attention is given to other areas of need. Jesus handles our spiritual emergencies in the same way; have you received Him, do you believe Him, are you abiding in Him as Lord? Praise God!
"Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever;
His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed,
And His dominion shall endure to the end.
He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth,
Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."
Daniel 6:25-27
"For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;
And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,
Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
Job 19:25-27
Give God dominion over you and all you have. He will rescue and deliver you from that lion that's stalking you. Expect great things - because God has promised great things. Be assured that He is for you, not against you.
