MORNING MESSAGE
March 16, 2021

by Gayle Gordon

"God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.
The princes of the people have gathered together,
The people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted."
Psalm 47:8-9

"Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.
In Your name they rejoice all day long,
And in Your righteousness they are exalted.
For You are the glory of their strength,
And in Your favor our horn [power of influence over the enemy] is exalted.
For our shield belongs to the Lord,
And our king to the Holy One of Israel."
Psalm 89:15-18

Protection and the ability to deflect the intentions of the enemy to assault and destroy us, are given to us to master, but they belong to our Lord God. And He is the Master of victory over all the strength of the enemy of our soul.
"It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect."
Psalm 18:32

Following Christ is not a trouble-free lifestyle. We are always doing battle. We wrestle! Wrestling is done without weaponry; no knives or guns. We have to do battle muscle to muscle, skin to skin; it's personal and individual to each of us. Strength and tone in muscles only develops as they are used. It hurts. It aches and cramps - and gets stronger.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12
Watch a wrestling match and see the contestants quickly become totally physically exhausted. Wrestling, in the flesh, requires top physical conditioning. A wrestler has to be able to anticipate his contender's next move and prepare to rebuff it in an instant. We have to learn and respond to the sound of the Voice of our Lord; we have to expend as much energy in learning the voice and impulses of the temptations of the enemy. We need to know our enemy, Satan. We will be amazed to see him in that day;
“Those who see you will gaze at you,
And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
Who made the world as a wilderness
And destroyed its cities,
Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’
Isaiah 14:16-17

"The Lord is a man of war;
The Lord is His name." Exodus 15:3
He is raising an army and we're it. Victory is ours, temptation by temptation.
"Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. And he said:
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold and my refuge;
My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies."
2 Samuel 22:1-4

"Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, ..."
Psalm 91:9-10

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20
(But don't forget; they are subject to you, fellow soldier, here and now.)
