"If you love Me, keep My commandments."
John 14:15
"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
John 15:12
We spend much time meditating on our Lord Jesus Christ and all He has done and is doing in our lives. It is time well and wisely spent, and He is pleased when we start to realize how much we mean to each other.
"To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ...Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,..."
Colossians 1:2-3
"First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world."
Romans 1:8
The Apostle Paul had wonderful things to say about his fellow Christians. He recognized that through his Christian siblings, he was encouraged and given motivation and strength to continue:
"Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.
Pray that I will be rescued from those in Judea who refuse to obey God.
Pray also that the believers there will be willing to accept the donation I am taking to Jerusalem. Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other."
Romans 15:30-32 - NLT
The love we have for each other is given to us by the Holy Spirit. It is everlasting. Sometimes, the only thing we have in common is Jesus Christ - and that is enough and more. Our friendship is meant to grow into a tight and resilient bond of love that lasts forevermore. We become kin - family - through the blood of Jesus.
"...fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."
Philippians 2:2-4
I am strong in Christ today because of the love and wisdom and support of other Christians. There's an element of God involved when we can sit down with another "of like mind" and talk it out. We grow closer to Jesus when we pray and do for those who have need. Thinking of them first and ourselves second, is more pleasing to our Father God.
Pray God blesses, heals, protects and provides for your sisters and brothers in Christ. Meditate on the things they have done for you to enable you to realize success; the Holy Spirit sends us to each other to walk with, build up and encourage each other. He will speak to us. He will always do so. And He knows how we need other people - others of like faith - to help. Cherish one another. Pray without ceasing for one another.
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!"
2 Corinthians 13:14
