MORNING MESSAGE
February 25, 2021
by Gayle Gordon
"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:22-26
Good Morning! Awaken to new mercies from God this morning! Our Father stays with us - hovering and watching over us in our sleep. While you slept, He watched you and spoke mercy over you; He created new compassion and renewed His covenant of your purity and righteousness through the death of your sin in His Son.
"Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel.
Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!
My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me...""
Daniel 6:19-22a
Our salvation remains through everything Satan can throw at us. Nothing in the world can damage our standing with God after we are saved in Christ Jesus. We are able, however, to slip and fall in our hearts and minds. We can allow ourselves to drift away from God and His Holy Spirit. We given strong defenses against the lies of the enemy and they are all accessible by giving time in prayer to God daily.
Getting alone with God daily is key. Don't wear yesterday's socks. We are given the following verses when we first begin to read the Bible and they are very important:
"So the evening and the morning were the first day.
"So the evening and the morning were the second day.
"So the evening and the morning were the third day.
"So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
"So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
"So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
"And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31,2:2
Rest is sacred: "Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. (Genesis 2:3).
Learn how Your Father structured time and modeled it's use. He gave us faculties that respond naturally to this construct. Our eyes see in daylight; our energies are renewed in rest. You're starting a new day flooded with His new mercies for you.
"Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
Psalm 143:8
It is not always possible to function during the day and rest during the night, but that remains as the norm. We need blessed functioning and blessed rest; God knows exactly what He's doing in your life right now and every moment.
"If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me."
Psalm 139:9-10
