MORNING MESSAGE
February 23, 2021
by Gayle Gordon
"God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son He loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.
We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen.
We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels— everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.
And when it comes to the church, He organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body.
Colossians 1:13-18 MSG
"Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.
Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it."
Matthew 16:16-18 NLT
When we join together as a church family, believing in and following Christ Jesus, all the powers of hell cannot conquer our growth or purpose. Nothing can disrupt our divine destiny; Satan is made weaker and his schemes lose their power.
"And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
Matthew 16:19 NLT
The keys to the Kingdom unlock all God's glory and power in our lives.
"In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God." (John 16:26-27)
The praying Christian and the praying Church has power of God.
"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:13-14,21
God builds His Church through our love for each other and commitment to Him. Our relationship is new; "...I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." John 14:20
We are called to be someone's Bible; we are called to speak and instruct and love and pray to and for others. God will add to His church through our love. We cannot be self-consumed and experience the power of Jesus; He calls us to give our lives to do His will. It starts with us but if we go no further, it will die in us.
The Lord is calling to all mankind; "Come unto Me." People need the Lord and people need each other in the Lord. Be a part of the building team of the Bride of Christ.
