MORNING MESSAGE
March 20, 2021
by Gayle Gordon
"What a beautiful thing, God, to give thanks, to sing an anthem to You, the High God!
To announce Your love each daybreak, sing Your faithful presence all through the night...
You made me so happy, God. I saw Your work and I shouted for joy. How magnificent Your work, God ! How profound Your thoughts!
(Psalm 92:1-5 - MSG)
Our happiness is being attacked on every side. We are faced with constant challenges to
our personal peace and our joy. But God triumphs. The decision to keep following Him is welcoming hardship sometimes, but we persist. The Holy Spirit remains and continues - so we do, too, through Him.
Lately, the enemy has amped up his attacks on our family at Shiloh. Needs abound and prayer is constant for each other. God says: Keep going! Keep abiding, praising, singing in joy and Loving each other as siblings in Christ.
"How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.
Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion.
And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting." (Psalm 133:1-3)
Living in harmony is achieved by giving and by receiving our love and favor to each other through the best and worst our members go through. We can lift a heart with a word, a smile, a hug. We have the ability to express what's needed most: love.
The Apostle Paul instructed:
"Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.
Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!
Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself.
Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.
Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.
(Hebrews 13:1-7 - NLT)
What wonderful parallels we can draw from those scriptures to the things actually happening within our Christian family. It all starts with our personal surrender to the ways and the will of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This is a wonderful day to praise the Lord for how far He has brought you. When you commit to following Him, you will change - not just once, but for life. Daily! Jesus is the answer to all the problems and trials we face in this world. The adventure is inviting; life is never the same after an encounter and surrender to Christ. If we still have inner struggles about it, drawing closer to Him clarifies our purpose. If we experience rocks and curves in the steep terrain of the trail we walk as we follow Him, we need only ask for His help and we get it.
Today, think of where you were, who you used to be, what was important to you in your "B.C." (Before Christ) years. Look how far away from that He has brought you. If you want further distance from it, get closer to Him. He's walking us home step by step. Keep walking in joy and praise!
