MORNING MESSAGE
March 8, 2021

by Gayle Gordon

"And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.
So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was.
And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ” And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.”
Exodus 16:14-16,19

The word "manna" is actually two words in Hebrew meaning 'What is it?' That isn't what a cook loves to hear when a person first looks at a new dish they've created. But God was not offended; He loves receiving any question we have, asked in expectant faith, including asking for clarification when we're confused.

Mysterious manna was consumed in huge quantities by the Hebrews. Three million or more escaped Egypt through the split sea; God fed each and every one - for forty years. God is still feeding His millions, today, in physical food, in the Words of the Bible and in communion with our hearts and minds. Like the manna in Exodus, daily bread from scripture is best when it's gathered every day. Our walk with the Son of God needs daily attention - moment by moment, He will guide and teach and lead us in paths of righteousness. We are in a constant growth spurt when we align our hearts and minds to seek and love our Lord. Don't leave out the Bread. Find yourself reading and studying God's word and talking it over with Him.

"But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; ...
"that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days..."
Deuteronomy 30:14-16a, 20a

In the Holy Spirit, we have the answers we seek from God because He lives within. In every circumstance and challenge, waiting before Him will bring that answer to clarity and understanding; He sees your circumstance and He's heard your prayer. Our manna, today, is in print. We can take and eat, and digest it's beautiful Spirit-filled goodness. It will not spoil or rot; you can ingest as much as you'd like. Remember to eat daily!

"Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
John 6:32-33

"And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
John 6:35

Praise God for this sacred and very precious treasure!
