MORNING MESSAGE
March 11, 2021

by Gayle Gordon

"You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever."
Psalm 30:11-12

Every talent you have - and there are many - can be given to praise the Lord. You have talents both seen and unseen. And you have the Holy Spirit enabling you to turn your weaknesses into glories that will praise God. Just ask Him to do it! "Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope."
Psalm 16:9

"My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah
Psalm 62:5-8

Turning your faults into assets is a personal miracle of God. He delights to do so:
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

"Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand.
... And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth."
1 Samuel 17:40,43,45,49

That silky smooth stone had been rendered that way from many eons of flowing water, slowly and patiently eroding the roughness away. We'll never know if it was granite or sandstone - hard or soft. We do know that that stone was carefully sculpted by our Father, to perfection. All flaws were worked out completely toward one purpose: to fly swiftly and straight. It had been buffeted by water for many years; who could have guessed it's final purpose? David plucked it from the water quickly; he saw that it was perfect for his need after choosing smooth stones over many years, in his work as a shepard. He knew that the stones he picked in those few moments had to be ones that could defend the lives behind them.

Our weaknesses are made into strengths to be used for the very purpose for which we were created: to show forth the perfection and strength of our Father God. You are being formed into perfection by the Spirit of the living God. Let your glory sing praise to Abba Father all day today!
